Our Vegetable Garden: Part 8

[These photos were taken on May 14.]

On my way home from work I got a phone call from Jonathan. The ice cream truck drove by the house and he got us two treats. When I came home we ate them and rummaged around in the garden. It was a blast.
Rains were in the forecast for the weekend so after looking at the garden we decided it was time to thin the lettuces and spinaches. We've learned that whenever it rains, the garden plumps up immediately.

Yum!

Huge!

Potatoes filled to the brim. We covered them the night before and by morning the leaves were popping through again.

The squash plants are covered in flowers and baby fruits. They were just little tiny plants with two leaves less than a month ago!

Thinning resulted in salads for the next day. Delicious! So exciting to eat our first batch from the garden.

  1. In the first two pictures, it looked like you cut your hair! I was SHOCKED, but thought it was cute, nonetheless

  2. Haha I know it did look like that. Don't worry, it's all still there!
